DREAMS 004: The Easiest Way To Make Progress At Anything In Life.

Image
Today, I'm just going to be talking about making your dreams happen. How did I make this blog happen? How did I get a job at the radio station? How can I apply the same principles into any other dream I have? Let's talk about making our dreams happen in real life. To start with, kill procrastination with an action. To bring your dreams to pass, you need these basic ingredients: a firm decision, a complementary action, and a tough heart. So, it all starts with a decision. This is the second blog I am creating, the first was in 2013. No matter how big your dream is, admit it to yourself that there are little things you have the capacity to do that will keep you in a progressive journey towards your desired end. Once you admit this, you allow your mind to better recognize the opportunities you have access to. I had mentioned that I had challenges with publishing even though I was a passionate writer. I lost motivation whenever I thought that my passion was not lucrative en

DREAMS 4: Why You Have To Run As Fast As You Can In Life.

"Relay-race" is to me, one of the most interesting sporting games. One moment, you have the baton, another moment, you're done having it -it's no longer yours to hold on to. Relay race is very similar to our human lives in the way the latter evolves from one generation of people to another. In relay, what you do when you have the baton matters a lot, since that is your own contribution to the whole game. The only time you have the power to actually influence the game is when you still have the baton. No one holds on to the baton for the whole time. We as dreamers really need to awaken from our slumber, lest, we'll never make it in reality. I always say this: We all are dreamers; some sleep for a lifetime; some eventually wake up and work on their dreams . Just like in a relay race, you already have the baton which in this case is your life and dreams. Don't just sit or sleep with the baton right there on the field of life. Wake up, get up and run as f

What Does It Mean To Have A Dream?

I think it's expedient we realize the actual worth and essence of dreams. When Jerry was ten, it became the fifth year he had been wishing to ride an aircraft - a plane. After waking up one morning, he rushed out to his father and said, "Dad! Dad! I rode an aeroplane last night." His father laughed shortly knowing that it was only a dream, but he didn't discourage him.       Jerry is now 32 years old, and he has never even been to an airport. Jerry now sells books in a book store down the same street he used to run across many years ago with a kite in his hand. I write this anecdote to highlight one thing which is that, although dreams are valid, they are really just DREAMS, and they can even remain as that forever. This is because life doesn't give you what you wish for or what you dream of; it gives you what you work for or what it has for you.       Unfortunately, at every point in time, life always has something to occupy you with, other than what you

SPONTANEOUS POST: Walking Towards The Light You Can See.

We all have dreams. Sometimes, I think that dreams are some of the cheapest things one can ever have in life. The point is that, really, there are certain things you hope to see in your future life. There’s something you want to have; someone you wish to be and so on. It’s not a crime to dream, but it’s an awful waste of one’s time to keep on dreaming without a success plan. In fact, it’s a waste of one’s lifetime to only dream all the time. I wouldn’t say that if you dream it, you can get it, and I am not disputing this saying either. What then is the message of this post you’re reading? If you do just one thing every day in line with your dreams, your progress over time will astound you. Walk towards the light you see even by doing seemingly little things. Set realistic weekly goals as well as midyear goals with dates attached to them. For instance, if you want to be a thriving business person in the next five years, follow the principle of walking towards the light. You coul

SPONTANEOUS POST: Your Worldview is Your Strength!

I learnt something today. Okay…last week was so tiring, and you know how exhausting staying alive can sometimes be. Well, that is on a lighter note. I got irritated yesterday when I realised that I had spent so much energy from 7:00 am to about 8:30 pm. Moreover, it’s just life. It’s nothing unusual. You, too, may have one of those days when you overreact to normal life circumstances. You may be experiencing burnout. The quote says: Always keep your face towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you. I don’t know what this may mean to you. However, I want to remind you this week that if you can focus more on the good in everything that comes your way, you’ll literally leave the shadows behind you. It’s like the story of two parched men who were each given a glass of wine after a long trip in the sun. The drink filled the cup up to the middle. One saw that it was half empty, which was quite disappointing. The other saw that it was half full, which although w

Society and Human Rights: The Lost Years Of Our Lives.

No matter how stagnant or regressive a person can be in life, we all are unavoidably bound to keep moving in time. Many hours come and go, and so do many years. Time is definitely no one's slave. No one can afford to buy time, literally. So, when a person says, 'I still have time,' I get shocked to my bones to imagine how much loss ignorance can bring. Even while you make such a statement as 'I still have some time,' you are already running out'. Can you still have something that constantly decreases? Can humans who 'naturally' only have a definite but constantly used 'time-credit' to spend boast to have time? A fixed 'life-time' is not like an amount of airtime or mobile data that can be frozen to remain fallow -unused. It's not like your wifi that you turn on and off at your will or discretion.           The purpose of this article is simply to remind us of the human predicament of being bound in a time that is set-loose off eve
