TYWA

TheGoodFelo is a literary initiative that is founded on a mission to establish a platform that would connect readers to quality, well-written, inspirational and literary contents.

Our Annual TYWA CONTEST

Our TYWA program is a subdivision that came to light in order to facilitate and encourage the involvement of young adults in the area of creative writing. Our aim is clearly stated in our motto: Rewarding creativity with a platform for positive influence. The idea was birthed in 2018 but did not come alive until 2020.

With this, we want to bring the kinds of children's literature that are actually written by talented young adults to the national, continental, and global scene. We want to portray literacy as it is in Africa to the world. We want to correct the wrong impression anyone might have about the African child. And, undoubtedly, we hope to facilitate the involvement of African young writers in global literature.

Although, we agree that a lot of grounds have not been covered as regards the education of the average African child; nonetheless, we believe that by doing what we do, we could balance the story, making the narrative more inclusive, better, and truer.

We start with Nigeria!

This is, therefore, an open call to all young literary creatives to write a "read-worthy" literature piece that would show the world the innate potential of the Nigerian child. Also, submitting a "read-worthy" short-story in our contest is a great start that will add an impressive start to your badge as a writer.

Our SRL PROJECT (Sponsored Readership List)

Just like TYWA & RECA, our SRL is another avenue we employ to add value to the society. The Sponsored Readership Project is dedicated to giving -as many people as possible -an opportunity to access quality books, while our sponsors get to pay the cost. Impressive, right?

In 2021, our goal is to provide YOU with at least 3 great books with quality contents. These books include both fictional prose and self-development… TGF is publishing new titles this year, and we want you to be a part of our SRL for FREE. Think about it, you get to read at least 3 books in 2021 and they are the latest!

However, to be on the SRL, one has to have subscribed to TheGoodFelo by sending their name and email address to us on WhatsApp. The official TGF line is: 08176265124.

Our READ-WORTHY PRIZE

This is a separate but complementary prize that goes alongside the TYWA Contest. Here, only top stories "harvested" from TYWA contests get selected and featured on the site. At this point, our thousands of readers get to Like, Comment, and Vote for their most preferred story; in other words, readers get to choose which story they found most worthy of reading.

In the end, aside the other benefits attached, the winner gets rewarded with a cash prize. The recipient of the Read-Worthy Prize could either be the overall winner of the TYWA Contest or a fellow contender whose story the readers found most interesting to read.
