1 Reason You Are Not Satisfied With Life.

Does life really 😒sulk? Or, is it just me? Are you taking things too far?😒

You may be asking relevant questions like: Why do I feel exhausted when I wake up in the morning? Why am I not having fun doing what I love to do? Why am I just stressed out with everything! πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ😫

I'm in...like totally! 😢 I am a not-so-proud ambassador of the Tired-Young-Men's Society of this Life. I may not be the president, but I hold a prominent position - and it's not something to boast of. So, I'm not about to judge anyone. I froze still like this 😬😬😬 when my pastor made a statement one Sunday. He said, "Remember those times when what you have now was just a dream, a prayer point, a big wish!"

Truly, a series of recollections cascaded in my mind. I remembered when, many years ago, I prayed to pass O' Level exams. πŸ™ I fasted with a desire to get into the university; I wished I could help people achieve their dreams; I wanted to encourage people and so forth. Now, I have fulfilled much of those desires, but I still feel tired like I have spent my efforts achieving nothing.😨😰😰

You might be able to relate to these. There are things you have now that used to be like burdens or strong desires you really bothered yourself about. Now you have them, but you don't feel any satisfaction yet! Meanwhile, it's not that we are ungrateful.

The first reason I believe we often feel this serious πŸ˜”πŸ˜ž lack of satisfaction is that we unfairly push ourselves. Look, it's okay to stretch a little further. It's totally okay to push forward; but, just like a young child learning to run a marathon, we must acknowledge our own efforts. We must consciously consider what it has cost us to reach where we are!

Life is definitely not a child's play. To live alone requires significant courage. I frequently remind myself how easy it is for me to wake up with a full πŸ“œ 40-paged to-do list, an extra πŸ“ 60 leaves of request and wishes, plus many endless random desires that just won't go away.😀 On the other hand, I hardly wake up thanking God for answered prayers in the past, neither do we wake up appreciating our progress so far or past successes.

πŸ…Don't you think you deserve some accolades for coming this far? For the exams you've written, for the hardship you have endured, relationships you nurtured but still didn't work, investments you made that didn't turn out well, for every teeny-weeny bit of effort you have made to be where you are today, don't you deserve to applaud yourself?πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I am an ardent advocate of looking forward. There is more in life for those that will not settle for less! However, when it comes to matters of GRATITUDE and HAPPINESS, it is important we know how to reconcile the past with the future in our present place today. It's not news that I'm an erratic blogger, so this is not about publishing another post!

You're doing wellπŸ‘, but stop pushing yourself without acknowledging every 🚢 step you have made so far. It's not all that tricky. It's just a strand of discipline that we should cultivate into our everyday thinking process. Yes, don't hold on to successes or mistakes of the past; notwithstanding, don't πŸ˜’ treat them like they haven't contributed in any way to bring you here, today!

I realised that I have a subtle tendency to be mostly driven by 😣 dissatisfaction. Sometimes, I feel as though I choose to live another day because I'm not yet satisfied with my life! It's a bad way to push one's self. I almost constantly feel like I have nothing to show for living this long. This is outright bad! Some of us have certain distorted perspectives of our own lives. I know my own weaknesses so well that they daily stir at me through a πŸ”Ž magnifying glass, but that's not what life is about. You know it! I forgive myself this day, and I hope you can, too.

We never stop wanting more...from ourselves, from our companions, from life, from God! Bottom line ➡ Don't be unfair with YOURSELF. Push, but be fair to yourself when you do so. And, remember, when it comes to matters of GRATITUDE and HAPPINESS, it is important we know how to reconcile the past with the future in our present place today.
