How To Be A Good Companion: 009 Recommendation.

🌼In relationships, we often claim to have some tangible and really compelling feelings towards certain people. Many a time, we claim that it's love, but most times, I believe it's lust or something of a rather less worth. It could be infatuation built on some appealing aspects of a person's personality, not the person.
🌼It's okay. We are entitled to love whoever we want. However, for the purpose of companionship, some things would have to be mentioned.
To me, companionship is a way of saying, "Your existence matters to me; You are important to my life; I choose to be committed to your well-being, success, and progress as much as I do to myself. Let us take this good walk through thick and thin."
What then happens when a relationship is on fire? What happens when a relationship is wrecking badly?
🌼One quick way to check whether what you have is lust or love, OR, whether it's just a desire for friendship or companionship is to assess your commitment level seriously and critically. The extent to which you can put the other person first in all things without the guarantee of a reward is one way to know if you really want a companionship out of any relationship.
🌼Well, companionship is not without reward. The mutuality and reciprocity is enough reward. However, if you still agree that you can at least spare your first-place position in many situations and put the other person first even without the promise of a reward, then you seek companionship, a relationship of utmost value.
🌼It could be a sibling, a parent, a lover or a friend. The allowance of "sacrifices without rewards" is the highest proof of companionship. This is what Christ had for the world. He was not even sure we would love him back!
